Project: In October 2008, Havator carried out a turnkey contract for the transport of two 100-tonne heat exchangers from Varkaus, Finland to the Igelsta power plant in Södertälje, Sweden. First, using SPMT equipment the heat exchangers were transported from Varkaus to Turku where they were rolled onto a pontoon. Havator Transport also had responsibility for the sea crossing and documentation of the assignment. After the sea crossing, Havator Transport unloaded the heat exchangers by rolling them off the pontoon. The components were then transported to the worksite, where a haulage track was ready. Havator's 500-tonne crane transferred the heat exchangers to the haulage track, and in the final phase the heat exchangers were hauled on the base and mounted on the springs. Havator Group was responsible for pre-planning, transport, lifting, hauling and erection - all services from the same company.
